  1. We both thoroughly enjoyed our two night stay in the Salish Suite. It was a wonderfully restful counterpoint to our busy lives! Being located in a beautiful forested area east of Bellingham, we felt secluded and peaceful. Yet we were just a few miles from Bellingham which we enjoyed visiting as well. The part of Bellingham known as Fairhaven has very nice shops and farmer’s market! We spent half a day driving up to Nooksack Falls on Mt. Baker….though the clouds hid Mt. Baker from us the Falls were impressive. The second half of that day we drove down Chuckanut Drive. Beautiful and must see for Oyster lovers! The Tree Frog Night Inn was a great place for us to see the whole area. The use of local artists to decorate the suite was a great idea. Throughout our stay, I kept noticing more little details of the beauty–i.e. the lavish mosaics, the stone feet on the bathroom cabinet & the slab wood counter-top. Peonies cut fresh from the garden adorned the bathroom and sitting room….a nice touch. Because we were there on weekdays, a full breakfast was not available, but the continental breakfast was VERY good. We selected from a menu each night and items we chose were delicious: smoked salmon, artisanal cheeses, homemade bread and granola, local jams and, of course, eggs from “the girls” (Kara’s delightful chickens!) We did not use the hot tub or sauna, but wished we had had the time! It is a lovely place that we will try to return to–we intend to send our daughter and son-in-law here too!! Thank you for your wonderful hospitality.
